GATEWAY PAGES

Gateway pages have been designed to achieve higher rankings by fooling search engine spiders. However, search engines penalize any site that uses these pages. Any Search Engine Optimization firm that offers gateway pages for numerous search terms should be avoided.

FLASH ANIMATION

Flash animation may look catchy but search engine spiders can't read it. Any pages that can't be read by the spiders are indexed as blank and receive no ranking . It it advisable to only use flash animation if it is written inside an HTML format that has content the spider can read.

"I CAN SUBMIT YOUR SITE TO 2,000 SEARCH ENGINES."

Be wary of companies making promises that sound to good to be true. You can submit your own site to 2,000 search engines just as easily as some one else. But simply submitting a site to a search engine won't achieve any results. 

"I HAVE A PROGRAM THAT ANALYZES YOUR WEBSITE TO IMPROVE POSITION."

There are several currently on the market and in our experience they do not work very well. Remember there are only ten spots available on the first page in Google. A lot of these programs offer a free trial so our advice to to try one or two and see for yourself.  

"I CAN ADD MY OWN META TAGS."

Yes, you can. But meta tags are only a small component of Search Engine Optimization and a specialized one at that. We advise leaving specialized work, including the placement of meta tags, to specialists that excel in their field.  

 "WHY SHOULD I HIRE YOU?" 

You don't have to. But remember, you're looking for a website promotion firm so it wouldn't make sense to hire any firm you found listed after us in the search engines.
